Was doing a load in my 1-18 when the timer decided to stop advancing in the middle of the cycle. Luckily, I was able to advance it by hand and finish the load. After a little searching I was able to find a new timer.
Here's a pic of the old timer in place.

New timer in place
They moved the positioning of the leads on the new timer. Good thing I took a pic of the old timer as a reference !

Your old and broken timer looks so brand spankin' new--what are you? a hygienist or something?;"D

How many sets of sheets. Several is quite a few, you know.

I met Jack, Jimmy's good friend from Akron. What s story! Do you know him, too? I'd like to talk to you and Jimmy soon, if possible. Be more than happy to come early to help prepare for a wash-in. It's less than 3 hours from here to Jimmy's.

Didn't know the 1-18 sprayed during rinse. Someone said no. Does it vary from model to model, or was the dude mistaken?

Great and grand photography, Man !

I had the exact same thing happen to mine. I was able to just replace the timer motor but also located new timers for sale. I still haven't bought a new timer for a spare $$$ but the timer motors are pretty easily found. Nice pictures guys, there is nothing like a GM/Frigidaire!

AND with Uni's so rare and precious, we forget the majesty of the 1-18's

Painting outside, I keep coming in for 1-18 breaks, especially Jim's dazzling rinse fill, Post # ...920. The jet streams look like frozen Frigidaire white porcelain tub vanes . Really put me over the washer orgasmic edge. You, too?

HI Bob: I know they all spray rinse after the wash, but did not know they did so after the rinse as well--Yes? Love to learn. Learn, earn, and burn--YAY!!!!!!;'D;'D;'D

Hey Mickey
My 1-18 does indead do a short spray rinse after the deep rinse and before the final spin.

Love the poppy color. Would love to get a Poppy Custom Imperial Model with the window in the lid.

Mine also does that short spray on the final spin, right after it kicks up into high speed and the tub get's it's rpm's up. My Poppy has the window lid and is the Gold Crown model. I don't do much watching thru the window, I like seeing ALL the action, lol

Fridgiman,

Awesome washer. I have look at your control panel on the 3rd picture. The setting on the controls look so familiar (I had to look at it really close) & also I look at the other picture & the inside was familiar also. Than my memory hit me. My grandma had the same thing that you have but the color of the washer was harvest gold, when I was young. It was such an awesome washer. Funny thing is it did not have a cold/cold temp. When she need to wash clothes on cold, she have to go to the rinse cycle to fill and than stop and turn the knob to the wash cycle to wash. Again awesome washer & have fun with your washer.

All of these beautiful 1-18 washers, but no fabric softener dispensers??!?

Hey Rick,
Your 1-18 is a beauty !!!
I do have the fabric softener dispenser but don't use it for sheets. I like that "stiff" feeling in my bed.

1-18's

Nice 1-18 in this thread. I'm on the lookout for one of those. I really like the poppy red, but I also love harvest gold.

Rich, if at all possible, since I've never seen a CI 1/18, would you mind seeing if you could get legible closeups of all the knobs/features and timer. You 1/18 gives me shivers up & down my spine!!!
