Okay everyone, this will be a tad bit more effort, as I have no way to get to the place again soon, storage or will to own one. I have no pictures of it, but trust me if you have any will to do so, you WILL NOT be dissappointed. Jimmy S. has this VERY dishwasher in his basement recreation room. Over on the far south wall, behind the L shaped couch for those who may need a refresher, and do not have a vivid memory as I do.. It is a Youngstown Kitchens, white, top loading, with a round window lid ( TO SEE WASH ACTION), one single dial on the front facia, looks to be either a portable or a built in. All the original shipping boxes were inside, all the chrome racks, and many things looked as if the machine had never been used. From the lack of any water stains, or rust/mineral deposits ( which Michigan has BTW), it really looked beautiful... And the original owners manual was there... Here's the information that I have if you wish to try for it... The Salvation Army 8525 Telegraph (US-24) Dearborn Heights, Michigan 48127 Phone number 313-724-0728 Travel information....about 15 minutes west of Downtown Detroit, and a half hour or better from Ann Arbor, fair crime area, but is on a MAJOR north south artery, and is close to I-94 and I-96 Good luck if you dare to try... |

OMG! That is way too rare a find to pass up! I hope someone in the Detroit area can snag it. I swear that if anything like that ever turned up at the Sally Army in Montreal, I'd risk divorce and buy it without hesitation! Someone on the board was looking for one not so long ago, too (but I think they wanted the dishwasher/sink combo). |

I would really love to have this Youngstown Dishwasher in my collection, but I can't make the 9 hour drive from Illinois to pick it up. I phoned them about it - they are only asking $99 for it. It's first come, first to buy. Anybody else in the Detroit area that could do the buying and picking up for me? Mike |

You are quite welcome Lonestar1947. I will certainly be happy to add this Youngstown Dishwasher to my collection when you are ready to pass it on. I'll keep searching for a Youngstown Electric Sink. I sure wish that the Youngstown Electric Sink that I found in Goliad, Texas had not been completely gutted when it was converted into a garden station. That's right - racks, tower, pump, motor and heater are gone! When I spoke with the owner back in July, I learned that this Kitchen restoration had been done about four years ago. I've included the link in case anybody wants to read the history of the house. Mike CLICK HERE TO GO TO dishwashercrazy's LINK |

Your range is the exact same range as Classiccaprice just put in his house, except that his doesn't have the clock added to it--which he's looking for, so watch your clock lol. That is a beautiful range, simiplistic and style and have STYLE. Are the racks in the dishwasher covered with red plastic vinyl? My "grandparents" had the same electric sink setup and I remember their racks were red coated, not the plain metal I've seen most places. Theirs may have been one of the last of the series though.
