In great shape and was removed during a renovation...seller mentioned that the previous owner passed away and didn't have a new dryer (this one was hard-wired) so it probably worked before it was disconnected.

Saint Cloud, MN; $50.

That's the exact same dryer our neighbor across teh street had--you the one with the seafoam westy kitchen, the washer that matches Jetcone's Westy dryer still the original Westy cooktop/nutone hood.

What Great Memories!

When I was a boy, I was in charge of doing the weekly laundry. (It was either that or the dishes.) The worst part of doing wash was going to the back yard to hang up the clothes, and I begged my parents for a dryer.
Well, they eventually heard my pleas. My dad found a Kenmore "bug eye" gas dryer like the one shown on e-Bay for $50; he and a friend hooked up a gas line in the dryer. Soon, I was taking clothes from the washer in the house to the dryer in the garage. I remember it had an ozone lamp and that annoying small door that I used to hit my shins on. But it got the clothes dry and worked for years until my parents replaced it with a new Kenmore washer and dryer.
Ah, the good old days!

Wow ... that's right in my "backyard"!! I think that's the first washer and/or dryer I've seen for sale in St. Cloud on E-bay.

Boy ... if only I were a Kenmore fan ... hmmmmm.

Yes, St. Cloud is good vintage washer territory. That is where I found my now long gone Apex Bouncing Basket washer :(

Robert ... I bet there are a lot of "choice" vintage appliances in basements around here!! I can't believe this is where you found the Apex Bouncing Basket; why in the world did you get rid of it??

Have you been to the recycler in Becker?

Geoff

Hi Geoff, its a long dumb story. I was new to washer collecting and restoration and I over tinkered it and didn't know (like I know now) how easy I could fix it. :(

No I haven't been to Becker, I have been to the one on Highway 10 in St. Cloud , that is where the Apex came from, but this was 1996.

Hi Robert ... I meant the one outside of St. Cloud; it's the same one that I refer to as in Becker. I should really say almost Clear Lake. It's the same guy that I've been talking about. I should really go in there again soon.

Too bad about the Apex; what did you do with it? Sell it to some other collector?

Can you believe 1996 was almost 10 years ago? Good grief!!

The Apex was parted out and trashed. At least I saved a majority of the good parts that are Apex specific. I still have them. Back in 1996 the only collectors we knew of were Gary Weible, Tom and Jon, Jon Charles, Don Haggerty and myself. We've come a long way.

Hopefully, you will find another one somewhere; there HAS to be one more out there!! :-)

You certainly have come a long way ...
