The drive pulley is turning but it appears there is too much resistance to turn it in the direction for wash which is the opposite direction of spin. |

transmission issue. Either the oil in the tranny has become like varnish, or you have a busted gear that will not allow the pulley to turn easily. |

If the washer is in good enough shape, you might consider dropping in a donor transmission. Just about any Maytag washer of the same capacity with a helical transmission will do. 06's, 08's, 10's, most 12's or their variations. I suppose you COULD drop in a orbital transmission, if you really wanted to, as well... RCD |
