Lint storage. I'm not sure on the dates of production but this system was brought back in the 90's for a while. The fan is run directly from the motor pulley, spinning at a much higher RPM. The two-stage fan moving that fast separates the lint from the exhaust air and channels it into the storage bag. I should have taken notes on the particulars when I was told but alas, my mind is a sieve and I only remember the broader points. Others will no doubt come to rescue us from ignorance here! This is the original bag system for the lint-storage model Lady Kenmore dryer I found unused from 1960. I have the original bags but they are long past useful condition, the glue has dried out completely and they won't stay together. I cut a Hoover C-Type vacuum bag to replace it with and it works just as well. |

Why has this never been mentioned? Was the 90s system the same design, did it use the same parts, or was it a different system with the same results? Also, when were the bags for the original system discontinued? Never seen one before but given how few of my friends bother to clean the lint filter, this might be a worthwhile system. Dave |
