Hey Gang - After some long and hard thought, I've decided it is time for a few machines to move on to new homes. Prices are very reasonable. If you are seriously interested please shoot me an email at benny59@mchsi.com. I am needing both machines to be picked up by September 20th. I've had many machines delivered via YouCrate - so that is an option too for pickup. First up - early Whirlpool. This is the second version of the early Whirlpool with the red agitator (approx 1952). I've provided the link to when I first brought home the washer. Unfortunately I haven't used it since late 2006, but I suspect it wouldn't take much for it to wash again. I bought a new germicidal lamp for it a while back - Japanese style, but still does the job. There is a little rust around the lid hinges, but other than it is in pretty good shape. The original water valve is long gone and was replaced with a hot/cold Maytag valve (therefore you have cold, warm, and hot temps, instead of the original thermostatically control hot, medium, warm). Next up - L5 Westinghouse Laundromat (1950). This came from Chicago last fall. The matching 110v dryer is long gone. The machine will need a complete restoration. Speed changer and motor work fine. Pump is seized. Timer does not advance but does operate the machine. Weigh-to-Save scale is cracked but there is the possibility that it can be used again. The original boot is still soft and may be used by the future owner, if desired. While there is some rust it isn't bad enough that the body panels can't be sanded and painted. Two places to secure
First is the bottom of the washer tub - if they are still around, there are two brackets to install between the bottom of the washer tub and the frame of the machine. In the photo there is a bar at a 45 degree angle to the tub - that is one of the lower mounting brackets. There should be one on each side.

Top plates, too
There are bolts to attach the top counterbalance weights to the frame of the washer also. When I moved this CL8 washer on the weekend, I did not have the bolts. I used zip ties and they seemed to hold it reasonably well! If you ever need it, I have a copy of a service manual that shows exactly where the brackets go (but doesn't say anything about bolt thread dimensions unfortunately). Hope this helps!!
