Just took delivery of a job lot of Whirlpool pumps, and need to find a home for the one listed below as it is surplus to requirements.

Basically got a few #285317 pumps for my Whirlpool portable, but this other one came along as well.

Pump On Offer:

(From Label on Box)

FSP Genuine Factory Specification Parts
Product of Whirlpool Corporation

Part #350367
Pump-Water -AW
Made In USA
Code 940806

Don't know what model washing machines this unit is for, and as it most certianly does not fit my machine, it needs moving on. No resonable offer refused.

May sell off one of extra 285**** pumps, but won't do anything until Mr. Repairman has worked on my unit, the new pump is installed and working properly. If the first pump lasted over twenty years, if and when the next one goes this unit may well be ready for the knackers yard, if one is not there already! *LOL*

Oh yes.

Took a peep in the box and besides the pump there is some sort of metal grooved thing (pulley?) on top of the pump and printed instructions as well.

The multi-grooved pulley

Save that, as the belt on these Whirlpool portables are multi-grooved. When the technician takes off the cabinet, take a look at the belt and you'll see what I mean. It looks just like the serpentine belt in a car's engine compartment. By the way, I would keep both pumps at least until the repair is finished. That way, you can be 100% certain you got the right one.

The 350367 pump is the original four-port for belt drive machines with either manual clean filters OR a detergent dispenser that is flushed by water. Because of our love for manual filter drama and the fancy dispensers on this site, I am sure that a number of WP/Kenmore owners here might have a use for that pump. MANY belt-drive Whirlpool and Kenmore machines require that pump and I have no doubt that someone could use it. This one was made on 08/06/94.

This four-port model was never used on the portables that you have, not that I've ever seen anyway. It was not even used on the older portables which had the manually locked casters - they used #350370 with the angled port on the bottom (for floor clearance).

NorfolkSouthern:

All the pumps in the lot have their own pulley's attached inside the boxes. IIRC each box was sold as containing a pump "set", meaning everything required when changing a pump.

Have two NIB Whirlpool/FSP belts on the way as well, soon as they arrive will summon the repairman to look under the bonnet of my washer. Don't know if the belt on this unit wants changing, but as the price was too good to pass up, thought it prudent to have them in my stash.

Considering the cost of repair outcalls, may have the belt changed regardless, unless the one on now is totally pristine. I mean who knows when a 30 year old or so belt may decide to go. My luck it will be just a few months after the pump is replaced! *LOL*

Gordon:

Thank you for the information regarding the pump on offer. Didn't think it would work for my machine, and as one is on a cleaning binge at the moment...........

Pump?

I have a 1981 or 1982 Lady Kenmore Electronic that is awaiting some pretty involved work. Perhaps a pump would be a good idea to have on hand. Would the 4-port pump fit my machine?

Cannot say if the pump will work with your machine. Will leave that to the more experienced heads around here. *LOL*

I'll just wait until Kenmoreguy64 next reviews this thread.

Hi Dave -

Yes indeed, your machine needs the pump that Laundress has. By the time your machine was made, it was the only model that used the old 4-port, but it indeed did. If it were me, I'd put a new pump in your washer when it is restored, just for good measure.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Well, that settles it.

Launderess, please send me an email so we can work out the details of price and shipping. I would send you an email, but I see in your profile you don't care for Spam. Pitty, I do like the stuff every now and then (I am ashamed to admit).

Now, I'm off to services to be a good Jew, (please ignore my occasional love for Spam).
