Unbelievable Design. One of our neighbors had that machine. The first time I saw that tub move out on it's own I nearly fainted. I was about 11 years old. We had the 24 inch version of that machine which you had to manually pull out the tub. That 30 inch Princess was one Big A** Machine. Where did you fill the Jet Dry ? I wasn't aware that they had Automatic Injectors back then. |

I don't have any other evidence than photos from a thrift shop that another member posted, but I think the 30" Empress model might have lasted all the way from 1957 to 1962 when GE started to change the Plastisol tub coating from Petal Pink to blue(and BTW, there's the Jet-Dry dispenser filler cap in the foreground):
