Sadly, it's too far away and too expensive.

I hope it goes to a worthy home,
Dave

Well, I don't have a place for it, and I wasn't going to pay $200. But I got it anyway. Thanks Brian! The lady came down quite a bit in price.

The machine is pretty rough. Drain hose cut off. Only had 3 screws holding the back panel on. Top was pretty loose. The tub has quite a bit of play in it, and I am pretty sure the bearing is bad. Of course, the door gasket is shot to hell.

Anyone have any idea how screwed I am? I am hoping to take it all apart, clean the cabinet and repaint it, take the pully and rear tub housing off and replace the bearing. I am hoping its some standard sized sealed bearing. Am I delerious?

The motor turns and the timer (12 min wash) seems to operate. The little guy sounds like a cement mixer.

Here are some pics:

Best Of Luck with the Bendix. I'm sure once it's up and running it will be awsome. It will certainly operate much better and quicker than any machine made today!

Congratulations!!! Gald ya saved it. I've heard that cement mixer comment before. That tub looks in pretty good shape too.

thats a definite collector! Bearing is standard, and you can use Robert's trik of closed cell foam for the door, avaiable at HomoDepot.

The only caveat is getting the bearing off the shaft, it the tub leaked for many years that could be impossible, you'll only know when you get that far. Good luck!

Thanks Jon, thats quite a relief to know I have a fighting chance. I'm really looking forward to working on the beast! Does anyone have a manual scan or a service manual?
