I've posted an ad on CL to unload the Motley Maytag. On the outside chance that any locals are interested, for AW members it's free to a good home. Earplugs not included.

Good machine

This is actually one of my favorite wash-systems performance-wise (though I prefer the ones without the wobble-tower).

This one has the jump up 2 piece tower. The wobbler was introduced around the time of the MDB series. This has fan forced drying, too... A very good dishwasher, indeed! This might also have reversible color panels.

I think this was the first generation post-reverse-rack Maytag.

The owner's manual does contain a piece about changing the panels. I haven't bothered to check what the color options are but regardless of what you do, you're stuck with white plastic for the control panel.

I'm currently dealing with three interested parties, which is not at all what I was expecting.

Colors...

That one most likely came with white, black, almond and harvest gold...

And yeah Nate, RCD is correct about the jump-up two-piece tower, the bane of my dishwasher-loading existence until the Thundering Thermador came to my rescue.

I've got my three parties lined up to contact me in the morning:

One wants it for his rental condo, another wants to surprise his wife by replacing a machine that has just quit, and one simply wanted to know if it was still available and if she could pick it up tomorrow.

Let's see if any of them follow through.

Like I nicely tried to say before, just because you hated it, didn't mean others would have the same intense dislike for it.

Dishwashers always fetch many buyers on Craigslist

Maytags NEVER last long. Plus, I have started looking at them and jumping on them for the racks if they are rust free....a tip from a fellow member here.

I know, I know, both you and RCD have nothing but praise for these machines and I won't deny that they do a great job. It just isn't my style and is way too noisy.

You'll be pleased to know that the first person to come and see it decided to buy it, so it will be off to its new home on Saturday. It's the guy who wants it for his rental condo. He was kind of into talking appliances so we shared some stories.

I'm really glad that the machine is going to be saved. It's perfectly good, works well, and isn't ready to send to the krusher.

Now it's time to yank the ad before any more e-mails come through.
