The usual wet and cold day at work started off rather well in some respects, this very nice Frigidaire spin dryer was there.
Looks to be in good conditon i will try it out tomorrow hopefully. Now much later something else came in that is not in my normal line of collectables but this is very smart and tidy and it appealed to me, i shall refer to it as the "The Item" and i will reveal it at a later date :-) |

Hi Keith
So is the timer inside the cabinet & automatic start on lid closure?? unlike the later model which was at the back...not surprised they are heavy with that great cast iron cradle in the base!!! Hope you are well, we all missed meeting up with you at Al`s ...gotta make it happen next year!!!...LOl Cheers, Mike |

I tried out the spinner today (not for 4 minutes though) and it works, very smooth and quiet in operation.
Keith & Mike Yes it is heavy, but as you say it has a loveley cast base, there are no controls at all so As you say Keith perhaps it has the 4 timer inside, thanks for that i will try it out when i am next at the garage. Lee I am glad you like it, i must say its styling is very pleasant Damage The oultet flume whilst it is still soft it does have a split in it underneath, this could be repaired easily. A very nice machine thanks for your comments. Gary Ps THE ITEM Doesnt work but no worries i will have a look at it some time |

Nice spin dryer Gary. Looks very sixties, wouldn't look out of place alongside a Hoover Constellation of the time. The styling reminds me of a Constellation in weird way. James. |

First of all, greetings from Wausau, WI. This is a spin-drier. They are used to extract more water from laundered items than what your washer does. The spout in the front of the spinner is where the extracted water discharges. As previously mentioned, this thing spins @ 2800rpm. Laundry should be practically dry after a "spin" in this baby.
Have you ever gone to the polkafest held in your town every 2nd weekend in July? |

Hi Handsome, great spinner. Now don't forget to get the best from it you must wear high heels and an apron when using it |

That’s good, it’s a runner, I would have turned it into a cooler if it did not run, line the spin can with plastic then fill the spin can with ice, place a nice bottle of plonk in the ice to cool, when not used to cool wine I would place a nice lamp on top in the corner of the room, sort of an occasional table.

Hi Mike,
Yep the timer is inside the cabinet..if you set the machine going the raise the lid and then turn off the power, you can still hear the clock-work timer going. I think Gary's maybe a couple of years later than mine, in the sense that the one i have, has a flat metal lid and and the lid handle is grey plastic with the "Frigidaire" embossed into it..Nice machines though !! Yep, next year is a must...I couldn't believe the other weekend, i was looking forward to it, but had to whiz off to Geneva for a meeting on the Monday morning..don't like this working lark..LOL. Catch ya soon, Keith |

Well going on what you told Mike keith i tried the spinner and indeed it does run for 4 minutes and then switch off, however i could not see the timer or even hear it.
So I assume it to be near the top of the machine. Very nice to use and smooth in operation, i span washing tfrom the Keymatic 3023 which spins at 740rpm and The Keymatic 3062 which spins at 1100 to see how much extra water it extracted. The results certainly justify the effort in using it in terms of time spent in the dryer. Attached are the extra water extracted, the first two from 740rpm 3023 Keymatic |

Hey, ya`ll be ahavin a Bootle kiss comin up!!! Cream of Manchesterford is that stuff...Lol
I wonder if the timer is top front near the lid lock etc?? You deffo make a difference spinning everything in "The Whizzer" as they call them in Manchester....John does it all the time in the Creda, and yes less leccy in the dryer!!! The only machine you cant get anymore water out I`ve found is the Hoover Vision and Zug 1600rpm spin!!! Let us know how you get on with the patch on the snozzle outlet, this little beaut is awaiting a snout fix!! |

Hello Matt
I hope you are both well. My Job is one of those "right place right time" finds, i used visit a site and buy a lot of audio etc from them and in time got freindly with the staff, and one day the lady that ran it said she was short staffed and I offered to help out, in those days the Health & Safety laws werent so tight and anyone could work on a site without any of the now required safety certificates or uniforms..... that was it Matt, i think the weekend only sites may be a bit easier with the staff, but it varies from county to county. All the best Gary |

Hi Mickey
Glad you love the banter but then having been co-pilot in the car around North Canton with you I know that...Lol yes that Acme spinner does look like a Maytag drum...and just as solid, it must be the most solid spinner & heavyweight out of all the spinners (or WHIZZERS as the old Mancunians call them) that we ever had over here!!! We never had many Frigidaire appliances over here but the spinners where the most popular, then the twinnies, and then the Launderama Coloured Washers down the BagWash!!! Hi Robbie...did you know anyone with Frigidaire appliances?? |

Dont forget the fridges, fridge/freezers & freezers ...... They had quiie a nice range (selection not cooker) in the early 1970s, and the name carries on to this day, although just badged of course. That said I had a Fridgidaire freezer myself from 1989 to 2001 and it worked well, was still working when I got rid of it for the S/S Siemens
