And I'm in search of one as well, up here in beautiful Redwood Country in northern California! Thanks.

I'd take one in the Flint area too! Looking on and off for years, and have not found one.

i have only seen a few 1-18s over the years; 1st was in 1979,
an avocado one some friends had-with the front panel off!-that
was a delight to watch the mechanism operate!
2nd was a coppertone window lid version i was given in 1982;
presuming something was wrong with it,i stripped it down for
parts and technical examination only to find out later it was
good-they just wanted a new washer!i still have a roller and
the motor pulley from it.
3rd was a poppy red '79 found at the dump in '97,partly
dissasembled and bent up,i almost grabbed it anyway..
They still seem to turn up for sale from time to time,so one
might suddenly appear within fetching distance...
At the dump '82-84,did not see a single 1-18-but there were
lots of rollermatics there

Just did a load of two sets of jersey knit king sized sheets along with four bath towels and washcloths(not what is in the picture). The machine was only about 2/3 full.

These machines hold a lot of laundry!

Good luck on finding one. I got mine last year from CL for $50 and it is my favorite machine(I only have Maytags).

kenmorekeith: I live nowhere close to Phoenix but I am much closer to Flint. I have a 1977 Model WC 1-18 Washer that I am willing to part with. I bought this machine in St. Louis this past June. It has not yet been cleaned up, but seems to be in pretty good shape. There doesn't appear to be any rust inside the tub whatsoever. The second blue ring from the bottom on the agitator has a few very minor dings, but the rest of the agitator is in excellent shape. It has been run only once since I brought it home, and it was a bit more noisy than the other two 1-18s that I have. Not without flaws - the agitator cap, bleach dispenser, and the water filter are all missing. There are a couple of blemishes on the front of the cabinet. I have $100 invented in this machine. Please let me know if you are interested, otherwise, I will offer it to any other member - send me an email at mikehaller@aol.com.

Attached is a grouping of photos I just took of the machine. I will be happy to attach larger versions of any of those photos upon request.

Mike
