Dave, I believe you about your Grandma's GE style. That may have been about the time the RCA brand was being put on GE washers & dryers. Those themselves were a mixture of GE & Hotpoint washers and I vaguely remember seeing those types of GEs in certain sales ads in the newspaper. So, I believe ya!!

Pat, yes I realize that. However, the two more expensive models (with the shorter height lower access panel) were actual GE machines. The other being Hotpoint because at that time, Hotpoint dishwashers were still completely different beasts than a GE dishwasher. Hotpoint was still using a different, weaker motor as well as the speckled porcelain tub and the typical Hotpoint racks. As well all the other typical Hotpoint markings at the time. It was not until well into the 1980s that the old Hotpoint design was discontinued and replaced with the GE box.
