Hello everyone! I have not been around for awhile I took an appliance vacation.
I also have found a new partner which i have been getting to know well, and it is going great thank goodness. I also have lost an animal which was a bit much for me,but feeling much better now. I have been checking in and seeing some wounderful things going on, I want to say all the birthdays that i missed Happy belated Birthday to the members and Congratulations on the fantastic machines that the members have gotton recently. Robert your an amazing person to keep the site up with new tools and all the updated formats thanks for all of your efforts and energy for this great site. That being said i was working on the Kenmore and two other washers which you will see in the coming weeks hopefully if things work out. Mr Ed who is a great repair man, got interested in my fever for washers and came over about a mounth ago and helped me with the restoration on the Kenmore. Robert at the wash in October said to me... That YOU CANT PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG LOL Soo me and Mr Ed got under the skirt and replaced the belt and oiled some parts, the main drive pully ,and he put some turbine oil on the bearings. Which I beleave Gordon advacated in a thread some time ago. Mr Ed also made me do a belt on a old whirlpool I have which have to be parted out. Wow it was pretty good to a point until that tricky AGITATE CAM BAR LOL but i did it yaaa. Still need more practice. So I'm so excited about it i took some videos i put up several days ago. And the have some questions about minor things. 1. So far seems like the machine is in good cosmetic shape as far as the paint job, just a little small rust spots on the right side but the rest is very good. 2. I need a dial. Talked to Jhon Lefever on that dial he maybe have one in his stash. Or anyone have any idea's, it's the brain of the machine can be a pain when using other cycles. 3. Minor but would like to have a clear detergent cup cap. 4. Only thing left to do is the tub cap which need to be cleaned and take minerals off and touch up with white paint where the small rust dents are. There very small. 5. Never used C the prewash option, and never used the suds saver so dont no if it works or not sure if it is nessary as of now. Any Suggestions is apprciated. 6. And defenitly new lighting. Ok here she is in a testing position and cleaned up. This post was last edited 02/17/2011 at 05:49 |

Hi Darren its great to see you back, I am so glad to see that you got the 64LKM running, it will help inspire me to do my 64 TLKM theres just nothing like the performace of these machines. As you may seen I recently finished my MT CA900 washer and it is very smoth running but its performace is just avarage. When you see a machine like yours running it is easy to see why KM & WP had almost 1/2 the laundry market in the US and KM had greater customer loyalty and more repeat buyers than any other brand including GE WH, Norge or even MT.
But I will make a search for the timer dial you need, talk to you soon John. |

Darren,
That is a stunning machine!! It sounds great! It sounded good on the phone a few weeks ago, but even better now on video. I'm sure we'll find you a detergent cup. On the timer dial, do you have the pieces? I have noticed that several of my older KMs have cracked translucent dials and they appear to have been glued, I'm guessing with model airplane glue. It may be better than nothing until something better comes up. Speaking of that, if we find a donor '64 Lady, I could use two push buttons for mine. Finally, there was a member on here a couple years ago who had this semi-infamous "BOX OF KNOBS". I am pretty sure he was in Detroit. I may flex the Super Searcholator later and see if I can find the thread (I know James/70-series remembers the screen name though). Maybe there is a dial for you in that box? I could use a couple others as well to fancy-up a couple Kenmo's. GREAT washer Darren! Gordon |

Malcolm
its a very basic machine, I have played with it for a while, but only one speed, 2 cycle(normal, gentle), standard capacity, one fill level, bakelite surgilator (no chrome cap), 3 temps(h/w, ww, c/c), the best part is the magic mix filter.....not a lot of drama otherwise, but a very clean machine, manuals and all....its dated 1962 |

Martin Jhon Ken Eddie Peter Robert Gordon Mike Hydralique Tom Louis CH Mike Bob DW Mike Brent James...................... Qoute- From The movie ..Elizabethtown Thank you guys so much ...You guys have given me a Hurricane of love !!! I'm so glad the machine came out the way it did, it's not my machine really it is the groups because if anything happens to me it goes right back to someone here who can keep it going. Main thing is I wanted the machine archived for the site so now there are three that I know of that can be seen ...Gordons and Johns machines. The only thing now is just the minor touch ups that was mention above hopefully they will come along. There is a manual that needs to be scanned and I will add more videos of the machine in the other speeds and a permenent press cycle. The Delicate cycle is interesting as well. Big hugs back to all of you. Peace Darren This post was last edited 02/18/2011 at 10:18 |

Darren,
What a beautiful machine and in such a beautiful color. My 66 LK sounds very similar to yours. The "percolator" sound is coming from the self cleaning lint filter. I'm assuming yours is the plastic bottle filled with glass marbles and that is the sound of them moving around. I've never quite figured out why the sound is louder at different times but have noticed if a dispenser solenoid opens, it must let air into the system which makes things move around more. Just my guess without looking to see what's going on underneath. Patrick |

Sorry about the Delay.
Louis...Thank you...Did you see on page 7 in the control panel is a slight variation on it ...SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE PRAYING.. O lady Kenmore please dont let this be a long wash day lol..or anything you want to add to that lol. And on page 10 with the srubber cap looks like a pregnent swirl from probely other Illustrations from past manuals. Patrick...Thank you ..I knew it was between the dispensers opening up or the suds saver system, but now since you telling me it's the self cleaning system thats interesting. Again if anyone no about this system would be greatly appreciated. Ken...I'm glad that you are likeing Kenmores what a nice compliment. Todd... Thank you don't be jealous not us ..Maybe John Lefever he has the matching pair lol. No I am happy with this machine even if the dryer does not come I'm grateful to have it. |

When I saw this website I said I think I found home and thats what I hoped for. And i did find and amused with all the talented people here. I like washers since age three my anut says 9 months yr old I stopped crying when in her kicthen was a washer on. But all I know is that it grew and very lucky to be among people that share the same even if we don't knew each other and i want to , we have a kinship.
So there is John's set.
And there is kenmoreguy64 brown machine, which was Greg's ( Gansky ) machine no wounder I did not here from you Greg lol . But im truly glad to have one as well.
So since I love to do wash... Here are the videos finally completed.
I hope I did justice to this Group.
First the washers.
