Actually you could watch the APEX operate also. Window lids were available in both the portable and builtin versions of the Apex. The water coming out of the 4 holes in the top of the Jet Tower obscured much of the performance in the Youngstown. |

We had a POD ad dated 1951 celebrating the first anniversary of the machine so I would guess late 49 or 1950. I don't know when the window lid option disappeared, but the machine went to a front loader by the mid-late or late-mid 50s. |
