What's This Maytag Model Number?

I think this is a Dependable Care Model. It has the white agitator with the little wings on the side of the column and the two push-buttons on the left side are extra rinse/no extra rinse. I asked her to look for the label under the lid and she said there was none. It has all the wash/rinse combinations and infinite water level. I assume this is orbital drive. If the wash turn over proves to be ineffective, could I switch the agitator to the ratcheting/auger type for improved performance and which agitator would that be? It seems to me that the tapered type auger would be better since it wouldn't take up as much room in the tub as the non-tapered type. Could I also add a stop ring to make the agitator more stable? The washer has a small leak on the inside, but she told me she'd let me take the front off for inspection. It comes with matching dryer. Forgot the model #, but it's electric. Is the rinse on these machines really short; like 90 seconds? And if it is, don't you think that's awfully short?

Checkrate/Likes Yes, you can replace the early style of agitator with the auger-type. Both are held in place with a set screw so the ring is not necessary. Yes the deep rinse is short, as you suspect. You might want to be in attendance to reset the timer to give it another 90 seconds of rinse agitation or just use the second rinse option. With the auger agitator, there won't be a problem of insufficient turnover; all items in the load should make the trip to the bottom once during the rinse and that is something that could not always be said of earlier generations of Maytags. The small leak might just be spray from a mineraled-up fill air gap.

Checkrate/Likes *It's one step down from the TOL whatever the number* Don't know the number offhand, but the TOL had an electronic control touch panel. Since this one has four speed selections it can't be far behind the TOL. Is that a Suds Saver model? If not, what are the two buttons on the left side of the panel for? Also, I'd just put in an old Power-Fin agitator to replace the one that's there. I'd buy it!

Checkrate/Likes *Hey Ken* I'm torn whether or not its a suds saver too. The text on the bottom button looks too long to be DRAIN. But I could be very, very wrong. It also could be the Soak or Soak & Wash feature, where it will just carry the timer over to the regular cycle after a long soak? Who knows!

Checkrate/Likes Those are the extra rinse buttons Ken, just like was stated earlier. Personally, I still considered these still TOL even though the next model up was electronic. This had all the same features as an 806 but with extra rinse. This has the short, fast stroke transmission in it.

Checkrate/Likes *HIGH END MT WASHER* This is a good machine except for the anemic agitator, the best thing to do is to install the Load-Sensor agitator. If any greater performance is desired you can also install a 50 motor pulley on the motor which speeds up the agitation, pump-out speed and spin speed 15%. The power-fin { clothes destroyer agitator } won't work properly on this washer unless you also replace the transmission with the older style trans.
