Hobart KitchenAid KDS-18. Tub still has a shine on it, as well as the hydro-sweep. Worth picking up.

kenmore

The listing indicates it was a Kenmore and I can't quite make out the writing on the escutcheon. Did Kitchen-Aid make dishwashers with a Kenmore badge in Hobart days?

Or is this seller just confused.

Bob, I agree with you.  It looks minty fresh, and wow, it's one rare bird, being a German Hobart machine, eh?  LOL.

It seems to be the consensus among those who have owned them or are otherwise in the know, that the 18 series was the best performing dishwasher Hobart ever made.  I think you can expect excellent results, and congratulations on snagging what appears to be a KDS-18 in like-new condition.

Some parts for the 18 series can be found through Hobart because they share components with Hobart's commercial machines from the same period, and you may find that more is available than for the 21 and later series, since those were no longer Hobart products and hence Hobart doesn't provide parts or support for them.

Well, it might not be a bad idea to position yourself for securing the genuine Hobart KDC-21 from your other thread as a back-up plan.  That would be a sweet machine too.

Well? What Happened to it?

Wes, did you get the machine? Or did you finally decide on the KDC21 in the other thread?

I won't ask about the National Disposer since you never responded to me on it.
Steve
