I was browsing through a June, 1961 issue of American Builder magazine, and came across this ad directed to builders for the Ling-Temco dishwasher. I hadn't heard of it before; maybe someone has one of these in his collection?

This is the end form of the James. Really sophisticated machine with a spring-wound timer, but the only one with a dedicated steam generator to provide the equivalent of a distilled water rinse as the steam condensed on the load AND it was the only dishwasher you could buy by the number of place settings it held.

I'm pretty sure there's a clip of one of these machines in action kicking around here somewhere.  If you searchalate Ling-Temco it might come up.

I remember seeing Rich's machine when it was listed on Craigslist and was glad to find out later that one of our members had snagged it.

Sidebar, James Ling's estate was in the same neighborhood as my elementary school. He was quite the wheeler-dealer. For a while.
