Skeptical of anything badged "Frigidaire", despite owning one (FL) that's been faithful since 1998. Thing is, you don't know what it really is or where it really came from. But then that can largely be said of ALL brands today. Hotpool. Kentag. Westmore. Ropuzzi. Hoovandy. You know what I mean.
I'll suspend judgement until the reviews come in. One of my favorite washers was a disc/swirlator, a Panasonic twintub, so I know the design can work. It will all depend upon the implementation. |

these wash-plate designs can be effective as the TwinTubs and portable pulsator machines......
what made them function well IS water......by churning water with detergent, the clothes rolled around in a tidal wave and got clean.......they DID NOT have the clothes laying on top of the impellor causing wear from the spinning disc... what they can't do it create a machine to wash the clothes without touching them.....ie, most TT's clean by tossing water around to move the clothes....even most agitators, one way or another, either move the clothes, or the water to clean......and they complain that the agitators scrubbing will wear out clothing.....what the heck do you think an impellor is doing? FLers are effective.....IF.....they use enough water for cleaning and rinsing.......its just that most have taken water consumption too far......... we did a big jump going from a TL to a FL in water and energy.......now their pushing it too far.....whats next?.....cleaning with air? their so worried about useing cups of water to wash clothes..........they need to put their resources where it needed......let me give them a cup of gasoline, and make any given car or truck get 100 miles with it.....and I don't mean these select few econobox hybrids.....if you want to stretch energy consumption, start there |
