When Mark (lightedcontrols) and Gary were here last weekend, they had the most beautiful machines in the trailer and although Mark took the incredible pink ABC-O-Matics home with him, he did leave a little something behind. While not pink, it will still be just as stunning next to my 1957 Frigidaire Control Tower washer. I've only quickly wiped it down, it will need a total teardown and restore job, but it's gorgeous already! Now I can re-create the television commercial with my 57 set... Thank you again Mark - I couldn't be more excited to have the set! I already have the perfect spot picked out!

But WAIT - There's more!!

Gary K. from Minneapolis was also in town last weekend and since he was driving his truck, Robert sent this along. This is the 1959 Frigidaire dryer (in turquoise!) that will be paired with my 59 multimatic-feh washer. It's in beautiful shape and drys clothes so fluffy and soft, Frigidaire had a great air-flow dryer all through the 60's and this is no exception...not even any static electricity problems, even with no softener. Thanks again Robert, another set completed! Be on the lookout for Santa trying to shove a 56 Hotpoint into your stocking in about a month!

Matched sets! Good thing Skyler is growing up and doesn't need his play room anymore! :)

Congrats!

Yay for matching sets!!! Is that 59 a Filtrator as well or is it a vented dryer? Are you going to perform a ballet dance for the 1957 sheer look?

Greg! You've already got the Control Tower looking great! If you want to trade the 59 vented turquoise for a 59 filtrator, let me know. I have the same set but am not that fond of the filtrator dryers..(ok I'm hiding as everyone growls)....Mark

No growls

It's okay, Mark; there's nothing like a good, vented dryer too. Each design has its particular merits, and personally, I liked the vented dryers mainly because--even if you didn't get the insane fluffiness of the Filtrators--you didn't wait seventy minutes for it, either :-D

*ducks*

congrats Greg!

Those Frigidaires are beautifully styled machines, and I think the control towers were years ahead of their time.
Nobody could do anything so neat looking these days!

Three Filtrators, 1952, 1957 and the 1958 models are a great plenty for one house. I love that Frigidaire air-flow, so soft and gentle...

Every Color of the Flag

Beautiful Control Tower Greg, the set is going to look great together. Enjoy the dryer, I loved that '59 Frigidaire dryer for many years, it always made for such nice soft clothes. Thanks for the trade! Greg and I traded the dryer and my white panels from my '56 Frigidaire for his pink panels. Now Neal and I have every color of the Applianceville Flag (pink, yellow, turquoise) in our kitchen...

Greg,
That is a great looking dryer! Very beautiful!
What does it need from your inspection?

Robert, that kitchen is great - what a splash that pink makes in there! I think our Ace Hardware still has avocado and gold spray paint in stock, perhaps the other wall of the kitchen could be "ode to the 70's"?

I agree that Christmas came early this year for you. Great looking dryers especially the 57 control tower. GM Frigidaire
had some of the best styling of anybody in applances. Have fun with them and best wishes form your fellow Nebraskan Dan

lint filters,

I was wondering if you have any speed queen lint filters you would be willing to part with. I have looked every place I can think of and I am losing hope of finding one. I would be willing to trade some of my things if I knew what you were looking for. I have some pictures of my collection, I would like to send you by regular mail. I don't have a digital camera, at this time. So, I would not be able to post them on the disscuss o mat forum. Thank you for your time.
