I love this ad! Hotpoint had a way of using 'out there' colors, fashion, styling in their advertisements in the late 60's and early 70's. I think this is one of the classics.

The woman in the pic seems to be saying "why don't you come up and do your laundry sometime?"

Move over Mae West!

Now right there is my favorite washer design!

Wish Hotpoint could have kept that control panel well into the succeeding years...

Later on, it looked like the more a knob could do, the less space it was given; the same went for Frigidaire...!

Hotpoint was suppossed to be General Electric's "B" line. For a long time, Hoptpoint embarrassed their big brother by making better designed appliances in their seperate division. Not sure when or if GE eliminated that division in the USA and just started slapping the Hotpoint name on BOL GE appliances.

every time this purple majesty show up. I always hope that if we show it enough and see it enough, the Lady Executive will show up somewhere in the USA,

and one of us can rescue her. Imagine those really unique 6 cycles, so different from the usual fabric stuff. Imagine waking up to the sound of the Hotpoint's soak to wash rituals,

especially on an otherwise blue Monday Morning. HP/ LE, for me, the quintessential Dream Machine. Thanks for the reminder. I'll be purple day-tripping todayCool on my bike ride.

The Lady Executive Hotpoint machine appears to have been one more fine washer!  I've never seen one but one day would love to see one in person!  If anyone on this board gets one I may just have to come visit you - especially if it is in excellent working condition!  Jim

The washer is the nicest thing in the picture-next is the lady with it.but that light fixture over the purple cabinet by the washer-looks like a claw wanting to grab the cabinet!Would love to see and use a Hotpoint Lady Executive washer-Usually think of Hotpoint as a "Builders brand"-don't think of them making washers that "tricked" out.
