My mother had one of those Hotpoint "Whisper Clean" models and the pop up for the top rack didnt clean good at all. My Whirlpool has one that shoots into a top rack diffuser, but it does clean everything rather well. Except the top of coffee mugs, they still have some crap that almost looks like sprinkled pepper that has to be cleaned off every load.

In the Neighborhood I grew up in along with their GE counterpart. Fortunately we had a Hobart/KA KDP-20. This is a near BOL GE/HP with a pop-up tower.
One of My Grandmothers also had this DW in her senior APT. Not even close to her Hobart/KA KDS-15 but a decent machine nonetheless. I have also seen the TOL version of it with the constant rinse on top. The builder that was using these later went to WP Power-Clean DW's because of GE's lack of quality and wash performace. Several other neighbors also opted for Hobart/KA or WP machines. I belive there were also a few D&M Kenmores around. Nick WK78 |
