So beautiful. I have black appliance in my kitchen. My laundry room needs a makeover, and I'd love to design around these machines. |

Some of the last lighted consoles I believe...I'd jump on these - they're classics - part procurement would be a challenge. I see a few members here, who own the Elite series - how do they like these?
Same experiences as you -only once did I see a washer working or a dishwasher. My strongest memories are idiot salesmen/women at Sears who devalued the machines, in a hurry to make a sale-not fair to say, there were good people, I just never ran into any. Can anyone identify the years? I'm guessing late, late 1980's or very early 1991. I alway admired these special editions and Lady Kenmores but I was never a washer connoisseur to speak with any knowledge. |

Hi Whirlcool - thanks, I just read, for the first time, your comments in Thread 2502...from 2005 and your Whirlpool is still working, seven years later! That's Whirlcool. It's not worth wondering why your console electronics lasted this long, but think of all the variables, that could have made the repairmen's negative comments possible? Oh well, I am thinking now...thanks for speaking up!

Hey Guy's... When I use to go to Sears I have seen water in top of the line in the 70's and 80's. The black ones had coloerd chips in the models posted here and was turned on, with the chips whirling around to show rollover and different speeds. The last model I have seen in Sears Live was the calypso washer which was a demo dry run. That was IT. Now it is a ghost town..in that department.
My friends who are a couple have the pair here which was my first posting in 2007. And they have my name on them when they get another pair hopefully. But they are still in great condition with one repair which was the dog legs in the agitator. I have had it stick once or twice when on the electronic panel, but they have never had a problem since they got them in the early 90's and still going. As you can see they put everything on the top of the machine and of course they dont spray it to keep it nice. Resulting in scratches & dullness on the panel.
