I found this left in a suite of a rental property. Can someone please tell me a little more about it. It is in working order and in pretty good shape. Is this something worth holding on to?

Coronado appliances were sold by Western Auto stores here in the U.S.   That's all I know and I just learned it recently in, of all places, the glassware department at Savers.

Yours is a rather unusual machine and definitely worth saving or placing into appreciative hands.

I never saw any brand but Wizard at Westren Auto and they were made by WCI then Norge.I am not positive but close to certain that Coronado was a store brand name and sold excusively at Gimbles.

Hello,

In my humble opinion ANY wringer washer is worth keeping if you have room for it. If you don't have room there is always someone who will want it with room. What a beauty. I have a bad habit of making room for wringers LOL. They make me wish I were back living in my home with a huge dry basement. Apartment life is very restrictive to collecting :-(.

Gambles vs Western Auto

They look to be part of the same operation per the source I referenced above . . .

I seem to remember seeing an ad for this washer or one like it. The ad touted that since it was square, it could easily be incorporated with kitchen cabinets.

Thanks for the info...I just looked at the info plate on the back and apparently this one was distributed by Macleod's Limited (in Canada).

What would something like this be worth if I was to sell it?

Maybe I remember wrongly but looks to remember that Coronado later  were machines made from Norge, I recall of having seen once a Coronado washer which was identical to a Signature washer, so made from Norge that also Made Montgomery wards......
But looks like earlier coronado machines were made as said by Gambles.....

Here is an old paper of coronado gambles so also found an old thread of Coronado machines:

That wringer washer is lovable! I'd like to have it so much!
KEEP IT!!!

Norge????

I know that most of Western Auto's laundry was, at one time, Franklin built, if I am not totally mistaken.

I may be completely wrong, however. I would definitely consider the machine in the photograph above to be a semi-automatic.

I think only automatic washers later (not sure since when) were made from Norge, initially not, were made by  Franklin sold at gambles and western auto with the name of wizard also.......
I did a research in the searchalator about coronado and looks like I'm not the only one about remembering that later they have been made from Norge, at least some members looks like they do remember the same thing.....
Maybe they were just made with norge parts....I just recall of having seen a Coronado that was very similar to a norge.....
I may remember wrongly....

What a case! I was sure I did see once a  Coronado similar to Norge built  on this website also,  and  was just right in the pics of the old Aberdeen farm that I decided to surf again this evening! Love  to watch  all those pics and dream!
Is not that a Norge agitator, as for lint filter action,  and  machine itself a typical Norge  style of machine?

That's a Norge for sure.  So much for Coronado's claim of being the finest.
