I have now got the wash dog home and have surveyed the repairs.

The machine needs a new knob on the timer. I have managed to get for one pound a patterned knob with a white insert not a silver one.

The water valve knob is OK apart from the silver insert coming out, perhaps this can be glued in?

The motor works fine despite the seller thinking the motor was faulty. It was simply not being activated by the timer due to the knob being broken.

The pump seems completely seized up. It will not turn at all by hand and the belt simply spins round it.

The machine needs a new fill hose as this is missing.

So my repairs are:

Change timer knob and if a traditional silver and black one comes up I will change the patterned onto this.

Attempt to repair pump. If unrepairable I will get another.

Change all rubber belts. Pump, spin and pulsator

Attempt to source a fill hose.

With regards to the fill hose can I make a hose. I want one to fit a mixer type tap. I have seen on YouTube a wash dog owner using a Hozelok mixer tap adapter. Can I use a normal washinge machine hose and jubilee clip this to the spin can nozzle and perhaps use a Hozelok adapter on the other end.

I will post up some photos of the machine soon. It is in very good cosmetic condition.

Also if anyone has the instruction book to this machine could I possibly have a copy say scanned in and emailed so I can print it off. Would be a nice touch for the machine.

Thinkmi will also treat myself to some laundry tongs too!

You could get the fill hose off Ebay that fits the later Hoovers. It has the part for fitting a tap and you could remove the nipple from the other end:

Knob and pump repaired. Works lovely and pumps out fine on spin and wash side. I need to replace the spin belt and wash pulsator motor belt. Both are very cracked. Also need to work out how the fill hose connects.
