Guys -
Some of these dispensers are bolted on, others are press-fit onto the agitator cap. The bolt on ones did indeed replace the agitator cap, and these came first, in 1969-ish, give or take a year. Users really didn't like them because they take up a lot of room and get in the way of access to and from the machine, especially when removing bulky things like towels and jeans. So, the design was revamped a little bit and turned into a removable press-fit dispenser. In 1976 when white Penta-Swirls and Roto-Swirls became common in MOL models, these dispensers became available in white as well. Gordon |

I'd guess this is a snap on/twist on style by the "tighten securely" language on it. Kenny: I mailed it out to you today. Should get there by Wednesday and I e-mailed you the tracking #. Thanks! |

tighten securely...refers to that these can unscrew apart for cleaning, a nice feature, and have little nubs inside to "mix" the softener and water while the machine is agitating....also the softener doesn't just sit there clinging to the sides until ready to dispense...always in motion...
when using any machine with a dispenser, I always add water, even if not using bleach or softener....just to keep it clean and flushed out...can't hurt |
