I am realy upset with Bosch.

Yesterday I went in a massive electrical shop and had a look in all the new stuff...

Sudenly, I look a Bosch DW model: SMI50D55EU

Candy, Hotpoint and greek Pitsos were more durable than that....

I know that people have mentioned here in the past about the plastic base etc,
but I thought that that case was only in the US.

I think it is unacceptable from a "Made in Germany" DW, even if it was the BOL model, to be so "fake...".

In the EU, I have never see plastic tub in DW, only the outer tub in washing machines....

Not forget to mention that the price was 738,00 euro....

My 1995 Bosch DW is much much better quality....

I think it is just costs changing, products are made to a lower standard of quality these days. Bosch have took advantage of their customers so that when a Bosch breaks, a Bosch will be bought to replace it etc. Plus some of the Bosch/Siemens washers/washerdryers are made in China so some dishwashers could be too, but as you say 'Made in Germany' on them. Did it say Made in Germany on it? I checked the German web page and all of the Exclusive models have the "Made n Germany" in their description. However, the one Exclusive model they sell with the hybrid tub does not say Made in Germany.

Jacob, they are not allowed to by law advertise Made in Germany on them, if they are not, and so far I have never seen anywhere a Bosch product labelled made in Germany, if its not.
The plastic base is only available in there low end models, and the price reflects this.
Its not a cheap base at all, and is of good strong quality.
As far as I was aware PITSOS is made by BSH (who make Bosch) anyway.
Its also not the only dishwasher out there to have plastic bases.

Also Jacob, the only products available here in the UK that are made in China from Bosch or the Clasixx/Maxx 5 & the Exxcel/Avantixx washer dryers, Logixx washer dryer is also made in China, though may come from Germany at times (along with Siemens IQ700 washer dryer).
Whether its made in Germany or not, Bosch check it thoroughly inside there German factory to ensure its up to high Bosch standards.
Bosch are a reputable brand, and actually very good for the price, it annoys me when so much negative goes about Bosch on this site.

There are much more low end, low quality junk available for the same price, or more expensive.

Modern Bosch DWs

YUCK! It's really sad as they used to be a very good machine. While I am not a fan of the Whirlpool/KitchenAid tall tub machines at least they are not this filmsy.

Thank you all for your replies....

Mat, I do not want to be negative with Bosch.
In fact, me personally and my whole family own a lot of Bosch appliances and we are really satisfied...

However, about the particular model, it was obvious that the quality was low, low, low.

I am happy to pay for good stuff. There are 2000,00 euro miele machines and worth it.
Bosch has alway made good appliances that weren't cheap, but affordable.

Concluding that the price (738,00 euro) do not "refer" to a BOL Bosch DW.
It is expensive for what it offers.
Even all the filters were plastic.

That price would be ok for a standard average, durable DW.

Also, I think that it is unacceptable from Bosch to be like that when at the same time, a lot cheaper, lower brands offer better quality.

Once again, my Bosch, is fabulous and I wouldn't change it with nothing!!!
