I was wondering if any of you had one of the Haier agitator topload washers? I was thinking someone on here had one, just wondered what you thought of it.

That may have been me...

To be honest it worked very well (at cleaning that is).The only thing I REALLY liked about it was the shiny stainless steel tub. It was very noisy on the spin cycle, had a slow pump and there was lots of splashing going on during the wash cycle which got annoying when trying to watch it with the lid open. It also had one of those boring direct reversing motors that goes one way to agitate left and one way to agitate right like the new Whirlpool top load washers. It may have lasted a few years (5 at best id say) but I started to hate it so I got rid of it after a few months.

A few times I tried washing things like 2 pillows and 2 bathmats and even when washing 2 at a time that were evenly distributed the stupid suspension would let it go completely insane and dance up and down. The suspension was the kind that lets the washer basket hang from the top of the washer and I hated that there was no out of balance switch but the foam padding on the sides of the washer was supposed to compensate for out of balance loads i guess! The time I tried washing pillows it would have exploded if I had left the house and wasn't able to get to it within seconds. The suspension also creaked like a building about to collapse on the wash cycle which made me think it must have had very cheap suspension. I think the max spin speed was like 630 RPM'S (same as my norgetag) but the clothes were still quite wet at the end of most heavy loads. I bought it in January of 2013 and it was out the door by mid April,

I couldn't stand the rickety suspension and the smell of the belt always burning which was starting to slip and make crazy noises and I know enough about washers to know that a belt shouldn't be slipping after 3 months of use if the washer was worth 2 cents. The real reasoning for me getting rid of a new washer so soon was because 1. Bad suspension and cheap construction and 2.Cheap, unreliable design. Many people despise of norgetags but I love mine even though shortly after bringing it back into the house the transmission has gone it it which will be a very costly repair but in my eyes its worth it in the long run. Thank god I got most of my money back out of the Haier. I feel bad for the poor person that payed me $250 for it, god knows it wasn't worth the cardboard box it was shipped in. Hopefully its working ok for the new owners...
