I got a '08 SpeedQueen, the low end toploader. I would like to know if the top of your agitator paddles(4)is smooth, or is nicked, scratched and rough. Not directly on the top, but a little on the sides.

I have a washer that I overloaded a few years ago, didn't use enough water(a load of jeans/jackets zippers damaged agitator), sanded down the damaged agitator, it was badly scratched up on the paddle edges. Smoothed down with 1,000 grit sand paper.

recently it's piling my cotton shirts, and the paddle top and outside diameter are rough again, I don't think it is user error.

I got a new agitator, it was smooth, ran it through a cleaning cycle with 'washer cleaning tablets' and after the cycle, the four paddles had received some rough spots I can feel with my fingernails. Is this normal?
