So.....is this really an Easy? It looks like it has an even wilder agitator than UniRobert's '62 Easy. Also, I've never heard of McClary before? Is this a Canadian model? If it is, indeed, a twin of the Easy, I have one more question. When did Easy stop making washers? Thanks to anyone who can clarify all this for me! |

This brochure is from about 1974, and its from Canada. It was one of many brochures I saved from when I was 11 years old and I was writing away to every washing machine company that I could find of the address of in Consumer Reports. Easy was long out of business in the USA by the time this POD was printed. In approx '66 or '67 Easy stopped producing their own washer in the US and had Hotpoint make their machines, but it appears that Easy in Canada continued on and made perforated large capacity tub style washers into the mid-70's under the McClary name. Maybe Pete or Eddy or a few of our other Canadian members know more of the history behind McClary. |
