Hi all. You may have seen the Servis Quartz on eBay recently, despite having on room, I still chose to bid as it was about 3 miles from the house. I won the machine for a really low £20, surprised that it didn't go for more! Anyway, the seller said it was his mums and they were changing their bathroom upstairs into a kitchen and the kitchen into a bathroom, and this was stored in a garage for 2 weeks, the sold. I went to pick it up, the machine was fffrrrreeezzzing and covered in condensation. Once I got it home and let it get stuck in the mud on the sack truck, I got it in the shed and powered her up. At first she smoked a fair bit. So I unplugged it and took the lid off. The machine was as wet as washing that hadn't been spun, so I left the dehumidifier on overnight and took the main board out the next day. Nothing seemed blown, but I re soldered some components on the board, put it back in the machine and tested the machine. No smoke, but it worked. I decided to water test the machine outside as the other Servis washing machines I've had have all flooded the garage. It leaked from the sump hose, so I ordered a new one and should arrive tomorrow with any luck. Will post a picture now, some later.
Moving on, did anyone else see the MK75 on eBay? I decided to bid despite it being over an hour away from mine, and won it for the asking price of £10. It has some rust at the bottom but it has the manual with it, so I'm not fussed! I have the matching MK72 manual (Daniel K, that's you're old one, need to scan it and pass it on to Phil!), so I will scan both. Hopefully it works, I could do with a machine that works and don't need to do anything to! I'm picking it up at 6 tonight, can't wait!
