you might try touching base with Yogitunes. He has several Neptunes in his collection but I'm not sure which models they are. He may have the answer for you. If not, he could probably recommend someone who could help you. |

ithink the newer neptunes use an inverter driven induction motor,while the early ones had the "switched reluctance"motor with it's "UFO takeoff"spin runup sound-love to hear this with my '98 neptune 3000 :) |

that is one feature I miss on the 5500 and up series machines...
was wondering if I could change mine back...yeah, but I would want them all to do this.... although a cool sound, for many, it was annoying, and people were looking for a quiet machine....otherwise, for the whole cycle, these machines are very quiet... |
