Cool!  I think I have a Whirlpool dishwasher like the one at the far left of the picture.

Do I spy a May tag combo display?

Over on the right hand wall. Great old picture, thanks.

Thanks for the great picture!

That 30" RCA Whirlpool range is the one that CU melted the control panel on when they left a rear surface unit on without a pan on it. The neat little sliding switches were rendered useless.

I thought the portable DW was a Mobile Maid.

I remember that Maytag dryer with the Lucite cabinet to show the Halo of Heat element at the front. It was a red neon tube. Our Economy Auto Store had one in the window and it was quite a dramatic sight at night when the store was dark and it was on.

I have that!

Consumer Reports, that range is a 58, I have never seen a older model RCA Whirlpool range, they look much like the Roper built Kenmores, I wonder if there was a connection????Tom??John???

I think earlier ranges were from the Estate Range factory in Hamilton, Ohio and might have been RCA Estate brand after RCA purchased Estate, but I am not sure about the time of the redesign or name change. I remember ads for RCA Whirlpool ranges up through the mid 60s with the 40" ranges having the surface unit controls along the right side of the cooktop, but then John said that they stopped making ranges. Later they sourced them from Kelvinator.

Estate Range Co.

The following information is from Lane Public Lib. in Hamilton, OH and other sources. In 1955, Estate (the cooking appliance division of RCA) merged with Seeger Refrigeration, Sears Roebuck & Co., and Whirlpool Corp. The resulting company was known as Whirlpool-Seeger Corp. At this time they received a license from RCA to use their trademark for a certain number of years on their appliances. Sears is included due to their substantial ownership in both Seeger and Whirlpool.

Whirlpool announced in early June of 1961 that production at the Hamilton plant would end by June of that year.

Also in 1957

The Coldspot fridges stopped having a stamp on the back saying Seeger, about this time Birtman electric was gobbled up by Sears/Whirlpool so Kenmore vacuums and mixers could be under one management/I had always heard all the cooking stuff sold by Sears was a Roper product, but this throws a curve in that.
