The photos aren't the greatest but the white interior may indicate a 1955 model.  Some fancy vintage appliances have turned up in this area over the years - might need to make a pilgrimage there one of these days.

 

The fact that it's still on the wall means the mounting bracket is still intact and the sudden end of life 5 years ago may indicate a bad resistor (a common problem on the 1955 and 1956 models, it would seem!)  And EEEK!  It looks like they removed the door gaskets.  Why is a mystery to me. 

 

$500 is a bit steep for a non-working unit....

I guess they removed the gaskets to avoid bad smells and use it as a storage!
