This is the same joker who lurked here and saw the posting about the Woodtone Brown fridge when it was on ebay for 99c. I would have won it for that amount if not for his hijacking, so in an act of revenge I drove the price up to something like $200.
I fully understand that he had every right to bid on that fridge, but there's a protocol we generally observe here on this site to step aside if someone has decided to go after an ebay item. It really pissed me off that a lurker/outsider mined information from here in order to go after an item an AW member had already bid on.
After his win, this guy had the nerve to pull up my profile for my e-mail address and proceeded to contact me for help with the fridge because it wouldn't shut off. I was polite about it and played dumb about what might be wrong even though I knew it was a bad cold control, a very common issue with these older GE's. Hell would freeze over before I offered this guy any assistance.
Then he offered to sell it to me. Yeah, right. Like I'm some fool that would give him what he paid for it.
The yellow fridge showed up on our local CL listings sometime later. It was a beater so I wasn't interested. Not long after that, the yellow fridge showed up for sale in a thread here. The guy signed up as a member in an attempt to pawn that fridge onto someone else, making claims that it worked OK even after he had harvested parts off of it in hopes of repairing the brown fridge. I alerted Robert with an advisory that the seller had harvested parts off the fridge and was attempting to dump it. Robert posted a warning in the thread and it went into free-fall.
Now he's got both of them on CL and neither of them are in proper working order. At least he's being somewhat honest about that this time.
His CL ad has been running for quite some time. Unfortunately, both fridges are likely headed to the crusher. If things had worked out differently, the brown fridge might be happily keeping drinks cold for me right now. Which fate for such a beautiful machine would any of us here prefer?
I feel bad about both of these fridges' appointment with destiny, but this unethical person doesn't deserve a penny for either machine after what he's done to them both.
Here's a link to his thread with the yellow fridge. As you can see, he still has a grand total of one whole post some 221 days later. CLICK HERE TO GO TO rp2813's LINK |

Ralph, I understand the drama and your hurt feelings but go pick up the brown baby. |

Unfortunately that's easier said than done, Travis. The truck has brake issues that I haven't been able to resolve. But regardless, the brown fridge is obviously GE's largest 1959 model, which won't fit in the space anymore now that the adjacent bathroom has been reconfigured. At this point, all I can accommodate is one of the smaller 30" wide models. |

*LOL*
Remember that brown GE fridge and the drama what came afterwards. Honestly da noive of some people. You slip in and nab something but things don't go right, so you sneak around and try to get someone else to "eat" your mistake so you aren't out of pocket. The fridge is a treasure but if someone pulled that stunt on me they could find themselves buried in that treasure. |
