Hi All,

I recently found this Gem on Ebay in Sydney, it still belonged to the original owner and was in the basement it was first installed in 60 years ago. She was trying to find it a new home before she moved out to a retirement village.

Unlike a lot of early Aussie Auto's its not all Aluminium which means it should be fixable. It seems to be in ok condition, the spin motor and overdrive turn easily, but the Wash motor or pump are seized.

It is cold fill only, you set the heater control on the left and push the white button to heat, you then select the water level with the missing knob and the wash time. When you close the lid the machine starts.

I'll pull the cabinet off this weekend so I can see if its the motor or the pump that's seized, it'll also give me a chance to check for further leaks or rust.

It came with a single page of Operating instructions, plus the service manual, they put a fair bit of maintenance and love into this machine over the years.

Regards
Nathan

That's a sweet machine - and a good story. Do you know what the tumble and spin speeds are?

Shades of Malleys 12

Dials much the same, blue with white indentations. Malleys 12 vintage around 1955. Doubt if Easy was ever a brand manufactured in Australia. Check the manufacturers plate for us. Bolt down I am sure. Cannot wait to see up and running. Two separate motors, one for wash tumble and the other for spin cycle. Great find, means there is probably a Malleys 12 out there somewhere.

It is an Australian made Easy

I remember these machines in the 60's and in 1964 Choice Magazine reviewed them in great detail along with other automatics including Malleys Whirlpool, Simpson, Turner, Pope, General Electric, and Hoover Keymatic.
