Well Pierre, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make em drink. My suggestion would be to just let your brother and his wife get the washer and dryer that they want. If they get something that you recommend and they are not happy with them, guess who's fault it will be in their minds, yours! Since she insists upon using cold water, buy her a bottle of the best cold water detergent that can be had as a gift. At least she will be using a product that may clean as best as possible in cold water. Otherwise, I would suggest you stay out of it.

Best advice thank you i might guide them but will let them make there choice and its strange but i do think that my sister in law my brother girlfriend needs to do her homework and that from time to time its good to do a load in warm or hot water me i have realise that and depending on whats to wash like for exemple perm press shirts i set the washer to warm bedding i use hot water if my sister in law so insist on washing everything in cold water then thats the washer for her that would suit her needs during the weekend i will have bed sheets to wash mine and my mom bed and i will be using hot water to make sure no germs is on the bed sheets but i think my sister in law and my brother will realise its impossible to get a washer dryer set in a 1000$ price range unless they buy vintage and credit to logixx++ who picture and link to is topic that i am using.

They have no idea what they're getting into.

Pierre, they have no idea what they will be getting into. They will not realize that they have to run the washer numerous times. They will not realize that these new washers will dumb down the wash temperatures and take forever to clean. They will go off balanced. They will not wash properly! They will not rinse properly! If they get an HE top loader, good luck!

i know my sister in law is a bit stuborn i did try to convince them they would be better off with a non he model but she insist on having one of those wash plate model its going to be there washers so even if i guide them if they buy a wash plate topload they will have to call a tech offen but not my buissness its there choice i might not like front load washers much but if my sister in law so insist on having an he washer they should invest in a front load washer dryer set has for non he is she so went a top load she should buy a hubesch speen queen washer what will she do the day they decide to sell only frontload washer dryer sets times are changing if they would take my advice or read up i would reccomend 1 whirlpool duet front load washer with matching dryer first second the lg set and in the non he models top load the huebsch zwn432 top load washer with agitator with matching electric dryer i relly think that before buying my sister in law and my brother should go check in stores washer dryers the he top load model and see how unblance they can get whit what i have seen so far not sure i would went one of those wash plates models if i have to stick with an he washer would stick with a frontload washer.

how long will it take for my sister in law washer to stink?

pierreandreply4's profile picture
if my sister in law is so stuborn not to use warm or hot how long will it take before her washer smells moldy and stink, if my sister in law is so key on washing in cold water i think she would be better off with a vintage set or even better a wringer washer that she fills with cold water, whats the point of having an automatic washer she should realise by now that her and my brother will never find a set in the 1000$ price range they budgeted unless they go vintage

sorry for bumping my post since i can not edit my topic

Sorry for bumping my thread but my brother and sister in law have a good working 20 year old direct drive kenmore washer 1993 model, i think it would be more economical for them to keep thjere direct drive kenmore washer call in a tech have it check up cleanup replace parts if needed and they would have there direct drive washer working for another 20 years, why is it so important for my sister in law to have one of those cheap newer wash plate models that might give them problems once the warrenty is no longer valid where they would have to cal a tech evry time a problem happens with there washer while for them restoring there direct drive washer or have it check up by a tech would be more economical here is a pic of there actual washer i wonder why must my sister in law wents a new wash plate model that would maybe cause her problem i will never know washer is on the left

I don't know what to tell you...

You're welcome. I don't know what to tell you, but I have a feeling that she's mad the biggest mistake ever in the purchase history of washers and dryers. We'll see what kind of washer and dryer she has in the mean time. Until then, Show her some youtube videos.
