To be fair few if any vintage dishwashers truly coped with pots and pans, regardless of offering such a cycle. Those with such at best softened and removed various levels of gunk, but make no mistake Madame would be a scrubbing/wiping afterwards.
Of course if the things were pre-soaked and or washed beforehand things could be different. Don't bother with the P&P cycle on my MM unless am doing a load of baking/cooking with fresh pots and stuff ready to go. If things are truly crusty will stop the things after main wash and restart for a second go. Also helps to use commercial strength (and probably highly corrosive) automatic dishwasher detergent to "scour" off the muck. |

Perhaps it would be considered sacrilege, but if Robert can get his hands on it, that machine would be a prime candidate for a plexi-glass front.
Ralph that's 1/4" heavy duty glass that I use for making dishwasher windows. Plexi-glass wont hold up for long. Is there a spray arm below the bottom rack or does the pink Frisbee spray both the lower and upper rack There sure is a spray arm at the bottom Eugene, you can see 1/2 of it pointing towards the 1:00 position. |

With these old Hotpoints, is you have to wear ear protection when they are running....Really though, they clean as good as anything made today, better than most. |

A family in my hometown that had a similar machine, when they got a new Hotpoint in the late 70s they always said the old one cleaned better. |

can I fish out of the word-wealth source?
Can't. What a cool, really great looking and neat-featured system. I love the panel, the interior, and whatever decibels it possesses. I don't mind a louder dishwasher, personally when it's an old girl like this one. Hope you get this and thanks for once again presenting a relic of distinction. Phil |
