BOL Frigidaire dishwasher, average Frigidaire range, and a duplicate (in avocado) of a Kenmore set for sale in another thread.

Is it just me or.........

....are we seeing a lot of Avocado lately? (Vomicado as some members say LOL). This is the 4th Avocado WD pair I can recall recently - Frigidaire set from AL, Montgomery Wards Pair from SE Mo, a Maytag pair, and now the Kenmores?

Just seems interesting that the stars have aligned for Avocado recently?

The range and dishwasher are from the early seventies. The dishwasher seems to have the blue Plastisol and metal door. The range is a RDG-38S, RDG3-38S or RDG3-38W and the dihwasher should be a DW-DUT or a DW3 DUT. The newer models had white coating on their tubs and white molded plastic inner doors.

Hans, this one is a Deluxe too. The Frigidaire 30" free standing range lineup from the fake woodgrain years was a bit confusing and there were a few oddities which I won't show here (I don't even have images of some!). But here are a few models that were available or at least shown in the sales literature:

-The Super series 30 (1971 RS-30S, 1973 RS3-30S and late 1973 RS3-30W) had the small control panel like yours but lacked a clock/timer and had no pilot light for the surface units. It also had three 6" burners and no oven light or oven door glass.

-The Super series 36 (1971 RSE-36S, 1973 RSE3-36S and late 1973 RSE3-36W), looked similar to the Super series 30, also had three 6" burners but added a clock/timer, different knobs for the surface units as well as a pilot light to tell they are turned on and a self-cleaning oven. Note that the RSEW-36S is a 1971 model that also had the hot water dispenser but otherwise looked similar to this model.

The Super ranges got a new look for 1975 with the clock moved in the center of the control panel but one model remained with the previous style of control panel (with different/reversed colors) which was fitted with the new style clock on the left. It also used plug-in burners (not Radiantubes) and a fluorescent light under the control panel, the "RES 37".  Note that the oven door handle matches those of the Electri-Clean models with the tall control panels.

-The Deluxe series 35  (yours!)  (1971 RDG-35S, 1973 RDG3-35S and late 1973 RDG3-35W) which had a timer, an oven door glass and a non-self-cleaning oven.

-The Deluxe 38 model (1971 RDG-38S, 1973 RDG3-38S and late 1973 RDG3-38W) had a taller control panel (which Frigidaire called "high console") with a fluorescent lamp above it, a larger clock/timer, two 8" burners and an oven door glass as well as "continuous clean" panels in it's oven. The late 1973 model also featured a Heat Minder burner. It's the model for sale above, I can't see if this one has the Heat Minder sensor or not...

-The Deluxe 38 Electri-Clean (1971 RDE-38S)added the self-cleaning feature instead of the continuous clean panels and no oven door glass.

-The Custom Deluxe 37 (1973 RCDE3-37CU) also featured an Electri-Clean oven and had ceramatop cooking surface with rounded edges and porcelain trim around it. It featured a short control panel with the small clock and burner controls lined up.

And the late 1973 model (RCDE3-37CW ) featured a fluorescent light under the control panel.

Custom Deluxe

-The Custom Deluxe 38 (late 1973 RCDE3-38W) had a tall control panel with a full width glass, 2 6" and 2" burners and a Heat Minder burner and Electri-Clean oven.

1964 Frigidaire refrigerator, 1973 Frigidaire range and 1963 dishwasher.

-The Custom Imperial 39 with radiantube burners and mechanical controls (1971-73 RCIE-39S) had the same features and look as the Custom Deluxe model above but it also had a Speed Heat burner (and an available rotisserie)

-The Custom Imperial 39 with the Ceramatop and Touch-N-Cook controls (late 1973 RCIE3-39CDW)

The ceramatop doesn't have rounded edges like on the Custom Deluxe and it has a stainless steel frame around it instead of a regular porcelain top It also features digital displays and glass touch-panel, and an Electri-Clean oven with a "Meal Minder" feature (another feature that Frigidaire had used from 1965 to 1970 but that had been discontinued after that), there's no thermostatic "Heat Minder" or "Speed Heat" burners on these, the first time a Custom Imperial model lacked these features. Note that this model got rid of the fake woodgrain on the control panel and oven door handle and re-introduced the bright cabinet trim on each side of the oven door. Frigidaire had these bright strips for a few years in the mid-1960s on some models and after 1975, most Electri-Clean models.

(this picture shows a fat but happy owner next to it!)

Phil, you keep teasing me with those beautiful high-console Frigidaires and I'm going to have to get one!

Not a Touch-N-Swear control model, but closer than they usually are around here -
