Any one seen one in person yet? I don't get the purpose of it... Was it so hard to pause the cycle and add something??? It obscures my washing view...

Im curious others thoughts

With some brands (ELux, Samsung, I think Beko etc.), it is impossible to add anything after a few minutes or even right away.

My GE with the Triange Door doesn't have an add-a-garment phase.  It does a partial drain if I hit pause. :-(

Not seen,,,

One in person yet, but they're being heavily advertised over here (UK).

Mrs was even a little intrigued by it (and she does not share my love of machines or detergents at all).

One thing I could see it personally useful for, is to add chlorine bleach to the water and then add all the laundry through the chute (as most will know, chlorine bleaching in the washer is just not done here in the UK/Europe).

(Some do, and I do it in my current Samsung washer no problems at all. Just need to be sure the laundry is wet first).

There has only been 1 maybe 2 machine models that I have seen in the UK that have dedicated bleach dispensers, and that's ever.

So if I do decide to get a new machine at all, I would look at one, but not 100 per cent crazy on Samsung machines, so would depend on what the competition is at shopping time.

I went to lowes today and looked... Absolutly right its an un needed gimmick.. The chute is very small, and the housing is all plastic.. There doesn't seem to be a tight seal around it... And the new desgin of the door doesn't allow you to watch the laundry...Pfft

Saw one @ Lowe's yesterday.  The chute door apparently doesn't lock, which could be a source of problem if kids throw something in during high-speed spin.

There is a cut out switch at the top of the opening.  Kills the machine if the door is opened.
