What was posted as a "Miele rotary iron in need of repair - $50" on craigslist turned into "just come pick it up, free". So I have a B890 that the control panel side was smashed during shipment. (Pics to come soon)
.
My question to our UK guys is: how readily are parts available overseas? They are impossible to find here in the States without going through a dealer.
.
I found a technical information guide from 2003 online and have printed that out, but is there are parts diagram and list available anywhere? This seems to also be impossible to find.
.
Thanks for any suggestions and ideas!

But as one already owns four ironers and three presses know when am that well off! *LOL*

No small number of Miele rotary ironers are damaged during shipment and or transport. Have seen some with very serious damage including top and bottom barely attached.

Miele sells their one rotary ironer all over the world, only difference is the voltage. Thus check not just UK, but various other EU eBay or other places for spare parts as well.

Miele recently began sending their larger commercial ironers to the USA, but don't think will be getting one.

The answer to your query..

Yes, there are various sources for Miele ironer spares in the UK and elsewhere in EU. Same as with their other appliances such as washing machines, dryers, and so forth.

Best way to search is via the actual part number wanted, otherwise you'll have to wade through pages of offerings to perhaps find what is needed.

Have purchased parts for my Miele washer from overseas; long as they were in sealed original manufacturers package (Miele), Miele techs had no issue with installing. They will not however install second hand/non-new parts IIRC.

An issue you may find is that with the exchange rate, shipping costs and VAT you may find parts from dealers not that much cheaper than getting things from Miele USA. If you can find a private seller and or someone looking to get rid of surplus but NOS parts things may be different.

Hi Peter, you will enjoy the Miele ironer I bet, post the pics and will match it up with the parts list, we have links to Miele spares here so shouldnt be a problem.
Have sold many of the still current B990 series. Also check with Andy Wetter he works for Miele in Boston, ( Andy brought it to Greggs for us to use) might be cheaper for shipping than here !!

Thanks Laundress & Mike...

That B990 is nice. Is the only real difference from the B890 is the variable temp?

I know I need a feed board. I'm afraid the pic of the damage may bring some to tears when they see it...

The entire control center is destroyed. Or at least the cover was broken off leaving the electronics exposed. Since I get out of work early today, I may be able to get pics before the sun goes down,

Peter,
I'm in the same boat trying to repair a B90 Rotary Iron that was damaged during a move. I am currently looking at replacing the plastic electronics panel as mine was smashed also. I currently have a heating roller but no turning of roller or movement of heat bar. I also need the feeder board. I do have the repair manual for it if you need.
Thanks,
Blake
