I was looking at a Waring 2 way mixer on ebay which is just like the one my mom has. I noticed the box says it has automatic bowl rotation. How exactly does that work? These mixers do not have a plastic button on the bottom of the beater like other brands have, although the turntable does spin. It doesn't seem that the bowl would be able to rotate on its own.

Also I have seen quite a few Hamilton Beach mixers on ebay, some labeled JCPenney. They have a narrow square looking motor and a slide speed control under than handle. Are these good mixers they are very interesting looking. I have seen avocado, chrome, white, etc.

It sounds like the mixer you are talking about is the Hamilton Beach Model 45. It was also sold under the Sears CounterCraft brand. It was less expensive than HB's Model K (a Sears version was also sold), which was the premium, heavy duty model. The 45's are OK, but doubt they have held up as well as the Models G and K.
