What is the switch to the left of the timer? I've never seen that on a Highlnder dryer before. |

Looks like someone added a switch to turn the machine on/off, perhaps the timer has stopped functioning properly. An electrical engineer friend of the family once did this on his son's Maytag HOH with the same problem. He actually put an electrical box on the top of the control panel with a wind-up timer and bypassed the whole electronic control system.
