There was an old stove like yours in my parents basement. Not a working model, but a display sample. Someone bought it last week at our estate sale to make it a working model. |

I treid my best to stay period with the "refresh"
There was a lot of detail that I did, that doesn't really show that much in the pics. Quite a bit of wallpapering..the grey color is a matched paint color to the grey in the new floor.. Painted over textured wallpaper, and the small room is paintable beadboard wallpaper including the ceiling. The light fixture in the small room is coming down as its not the deco look I'm wanting. The location of microwave is out of necessity..as these old kitchens don't have the outlets for such appliances. And I don't like the look of them. I'm thinking of caning the microwave as I don't know how to use it, and can't find a reason for it. I haven't finished refinishing the old doorbell yet...(detail) Lawrence I'm not sure if I want to put the vent back.. Or just use a hood/fan I kinda hate the looks of both! Can't decide on Window treatments... however the lady next door who is a decorator likes the mix I have now and suggested leaving as is. Im really glad I painted the table top with the matching color cuz I hated the butcher block wood. I liked the paint I chose for the table.. . Its Gliddon door, trim, and furniture paint. It's oil based paint that dries smooth and hard (no brush marks) Found it to be as close to old fashioned paint as one could get. The girl at the paint store had to trick the computer to get it to match Laytex color I had been using on the walls I've got more to do, but glad y'all like where I'm headed! 2nd pic kinda shows the texture in the wallcovering Pic 3&4 show the original asphalt tile the was under the green carpet |
