Hello Everyone

If you could design and manufacture your own washing machine to be sold in todays market what would it look like?

This applies to everyone the world over and is an individual thing. Everyones opinion will be different but that's great.

I think with the 70s styles coming back I would quite like to revive the older looks but with todays technology. I'm still thinking about this but would consider the following -

Fascia - Metallic I think in either silver or brown. I would have 2 dials, one which set the program and one which set how long you wanted it to wash and what stage you wanted to start at. The buttons should be kept to a minimum.

Drum - 7KG but no more. I love the old hoover style drums but would have think about the practicality of having fewer holes. The back should be patterned.

Door - I love the old square doors but love the chrome ones too. This needs more though and perhaps sketching.

This is just a general throw it in the air question as I am interested to see what we would design.

Rob

HI AQUARIUS 1984
i take it you are relating to the hotpoint, that was a nice machine many years ago. :o)
I think over the years they have covered almost every design you could do with a washing machine. I dont know how much more you could go now but i suppose someone is sitting there at the drawing board working on something that we all will want lol
