My portable looks very similar to this one, blue racks, wash tower..though this one is one of the plastic tubbed models. That tower feeds the middle wash arm. |

I had this machine. It was my favorite. The nozzle / funnel was decent; IMHO you only lost and inch or two of space. The W-R-R "Light Wash" did a great job. Of course this was later re-named "Normal" and the W-W-R-R (which WAS normal) became heavy. Some models had a default heated wash, while others had a no heat-boost default. ..........Of course Uncle Sam only looks at the energy consumed in the cycle labeled "Normal". |

I have two portable WP machines, this one and an older one and both do a GREAT job .......... I would think most DW's work pretty well if the incoming water is at least at 140F |

I had never seen a control panel like that on a WP dishwasher. The brown/black stripe backround. I have seen that on the late 80's early 90's WP washers, but not on the dishwashers before. |

so...on those early powerclean machines...where the heck is the filter? all i see is the inlet, then a solid top with a little protruing plastic part. so how does it separate soil from water? i know the new powerclean has the micro filter chamber on the top. there was a period of powercleans that did not. how did those work? |

I have a client with this model in all-white, a built in. It was in the their kitchen and they had it moved to a wet-bar in the basement family room recently during a remodel. *they bought and LG dishwasher for the kitchen in case you're wondering and know you all are ;-) There was no coarse strainer on that one either and being a non-rinser, she had great results with that dishwasher - probably better in my opinion prior to switching to tablet detergent but nonetheless, a very good machine. |

That dw is one or 2 models below mine. I have white racks & silverware basket. For buttons, I have the additional "Heavy" cycle and the additional "Hi-Temp Rinse". I also have a "Clean" and a "Water Heating" indicator lights. Excellent, excellent machine that I will not replace. My only complaint: Fiestaware doesn't fit nicely in it. |

fits better than Franciscan Starburst, but not as well as Noritake Lace Shadow, or Corelle. The best dishwasher I have personally used for oddly shaped dishware was a reverse-racking Maytag. Lawrence/Maytagbear |
