Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I got very lucky in finding this machine in SUCH good shape! All it needed was a paint job on the sides, a little cleaning up, and it still needs some tweaking of sorts in the tranny. I think I may need to buy some plexiglass for it however, lol! My only complaint about this machine is that it's not avacado, but i still love it!! I just LOOOOOOOOVE how loud it is too!!!! I can't hear anything over it!!!! YAY!!!!!!

I too was surprised by how clean the rinse water was after that large amount of suds in the wash water. Is this due to the 1140 RPM spin? The 1-18 does look really nice with the white and that control panel. I think if you could find one in Almond, it would look the absolute best! |

I used orignal scent Tide with Bleach powder! There is a cheapo GFS fabric softener in the rinse though. This washer doesn't spin at 1140 RPM, those are the Unimatic machine from the late 40's and the 50's. This machine spins at... what 660 RPM isn't it? There is a very long spray rinse during the wash spin, that got rid of most of the suds. It helps a lot with this machine that I have very high water pressure which really helps to make each spray in the jet circle spray very strong so more water is moved through the clothes during the spray rinses.
