Hello everyone, I'm trying to fix a big "goof" that i made while taking my 65 Frigidaire washer apart to replace the spin shaft. I mistakenly tried to remove the tub screws (underneath the agitator) while taking everything apart. And yep, most of them snapped off because they were seized. I have all of the snapped off screws removed from the plate off the bottom of the tub but i'm having a really hard time locating an original looking screw to put everything back together. It is a 1/4x28 Phillips oval head 3/4" long. Would any of the Frigidaire experts out there have any extra of these screws that they would be willing to part with? If so i'd greatly appreciate it!

Hey Mark

A supplier buddy of mine in Indiana is sending some to me until I can find what I do have in my stash. I'm so sorry that nobody else had any to help. These will be NOS stainless screws. I'll drop you a line as soon as I get them. I would also think that others would want some as spares. I have never taken a tub out that I haven't stripped at least one screw.

One good thing though, I did manage to find duplicates of a few unimatic parts. I'll be listing them on eBay starting tonight. Just imagine what I could find if I ever get organized!

Rich is right----

I've been looking for the two boxes of SS screws I bought a couple years ago. I have some that are for the tub and some for the rubber tub support---and I can't find the damned things. I will continue to dig around. I even looked for the invoice to see where they could be ordered from----- but I evidently did not keep it.
I'll keep you advised------

Mark,

My buddy sent me a package of 16 brand new tub screws. I'll put 8 of them in tomorrow's mail for you. And as always, I'm glad I was able to help someone who appreciates it.

Rich

Hey Chris!

You are correct Rich is an awesome guy! Would like to meet him someday and pick his brain about washers. This cold weather is a bummer, can't get out and do anything. When i get it back together i'll see if we can't arrange to get together. Work is going to be a major bummer for the next 16 weeks. (complete teardown and rebuild of the boiler and turbine/generator) 12 hour days and 7 days a week. It's not going to be fun. But hopefully we can squeeze some time in.
