Just saw her show and the part about "Can I Afford It?" and she just told a single mother to spend half as much money on a top loader - after all, Suze even said she has one. Still, I like at least having a front loader in the extended family, to keep me out of creepy coin laundries when dealing with bulky items. |

I actually HATE the GE top load machines. Go in and grab their agitators and swing them around. You'll feel how jerky and unrefined the tub movement is with lots of metallic scraping noises. Awful, I wonder what's inside that's making those noises? Probably something that would fail. I think the WP made Maytag stainless TL machines i think have horrible stainless tubs. Ugly snagging seams everywhere. Horrible. Their capacity also looks less than our 23 year old LA511. Maytag Corp. stainless tubs were MUCH better and luxurious. My aunts have a first generation Neptune. It had a few initial warranty repairs, but so far so good. They like it. I don't think I could ever bring myself to buy a new, modern washer. I don't think I could get any machine newer than 1995. |

I have to agree with Johnb300m. As much as I like being able to wash my comforter and rugs in my front load He4t, I will never again buy one. When I move into my house in a year that basement will only have vintage models in it and I plan on keeping them in working order and using them for everyday use. Even the vintage compact Kenmore washer I just got washes so much better than any new machine I've seen or dealt with. When we remodel the kitchen I hope to find nice vintage appliances for that too. Things were just made better back then. Just my opinion though. Jon |

I don't like newer either, but if i had the money id get either an Affinity, Fisher and Pykel or Cabrio with Agitator. But scince i am poor, i had to settle for something else for a while. |
