Darren,

You should get it. I love those. If the shipment across the Channel wasn't so expensive I'd love to have one of those. That is when it's working, I'm not very technical inclined. LOL

OMG!!!!!

I want that machine!!!!!! Being in italy, that is the closest thing i have seen to an american top loader yet, even though i am moving back to the states, i can keep it here for when i visit. HOT DAMN!!! hehe :-)

It looks like a solid tub, perhaps with an overflow rinse.

I like the look of this Hotpoint Top-Loader. It's great to see 1 in very good condition. I quite like the instructions on the lid, handy if you haven't got the instruction book!

I like Hotpoint's take on the American top-loader for us brits but like I said, it looks good!

One more thing, When was the last of these models made? I know the final model was the 9605 but can someone clarify the date of it's discontinuation?

Do you let me know soon!

overflow rinse

Ross

This machine doesn't have a solid tub nor an overflow rinse - the tub has perforations (though not actually that many) but because it is finished in brown you can't see them in the pictures. The machine doesn't have an over-flow rinse either - the outlet is for the 'filter-clean' recirculation, Hotpoint's take on the GE filter-flo system. In fact this machine is a mechanical copy of the GE design.

Hotpoint discontinued the top loader in 1997 as far as I remember. I really like this particular model - we had one back home, so I might just have to get this one! I just wonder what state it's in - I don't think you can get power-units for these anymore....

Yes, they are so super - I'm meanwhile looking for another one for my neighbour's as she is so keen on that type of machine since she has seen my "new one" in our laundry-room in the basement some weeks ago which I got through EBAY's, too.
She has the same "problem" with her american washer (my former one) as she has no hot water tap in the cellar either....

There's a nother one at EBAY's but first I have to organize transportation....

water meter

I had a later one of these machines but when i moved home i now have a water meter and there is no way i could afford to use it. does one main wash full of water on full load and then 2 rinses full of water. Had a lump in my throat when i gave the machine away. best wash ever and the spin was excellent 1050rpm but felt more like 1600rpm the clothes came out that dry. me mate still has it no prblems except the clutch needed attention last year..
